The purpose of the Southern Arizona Asian American and Pacific Islander Conference is to create an Asian American and Pacific Islander network. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have similar experiences and needs. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders need to come together to understand their cultural heritage, how it influences them, how others perceive them, to incorporate this understanding into their personal and professional lives, to educate others, and to provide means for growth in becoming a more successful, productive, and contributing member of the community.
